Wedding belt/sash or not and why?

Hey ladies! Are you or did you wear a belt or sash with your wedding dress? Pics would be appreciated! I am debating if I should get one or not.. Thoughts? Thanks all!

I am not because I loved the pure whiteness of my dress. For yours, I think your waist is already nicely accentuated, and I would worry that a belt/sash would take away from all the sparkly. That being said, you'd probably need a pic with a sash to compare.

Thanks for the input! Yes I should try on a belt and see how it looks. I've just wrapped a scarf around me and it's not the same, haha.

I did because I had little sparkly-ness and I wanted some.

However, I learned this: be careful if you have a lace dress. The bling on my sash kept getting caught in the lace. It was super annoying all night.

See how it looks with a belt to be sure. Personally, I think the dress is lovely without. Your waist is very nicely accentuated and you have sparkle in the skirt (which I LOVE!). It's going to be your call though.

My dress came with one, but I think I would have wanted one anyway.

I think I would like to see it with a belt, because I feel like it may bring the look together. I'm not wearing a belt for mine simple because it would've looked odd with one.

I think that maybe the sash would take away from the sparkly beautiful-ness of your dress.

Mine is a ball gown. The top is lace and the bottom is all ruffles. It had a starfish looking appliqué on the side that I hated. I'm getting that taken off and having a belt instead. I needed bling! I'm a huge bling person and my venue has a humongous, gorgeous chandelier that I wanted to catch the sparkle on my dress. I needed the belt to capture the look I was going for!

I tried on many dresses that looked awesome with belts, and some that didn't need a belt. I actually really liked the belt, and found that different width belts were more flattering on my body type.

I ended up choosing a dress that didn't need a belt. In fact, since I was in love with a particular belt from another salon, I tried a couple belts on with my dress when I said yes to get an idea of whether the dress would look good with a belt. It didn't. Because of the shape of the dress and lace on the dress, it cut my body up in such a way that exaggerated the fact that I have a very short torso. Without the belt, my torso was lengthened.

I did find the opposite to be true with other dresses and found that the belt lengthened my torso. The only way to know for sure is to try some belts on with your dress. Whether it looks good is going to depend on your body shape, the dress silhouette, and how busy the pattern on the dress appears.

For that style of dress, I don't think you'd need a belt. Your waist is defined well! A plainer dress with a longer torso area like mine needed something, though.

This dress could go either way. I think dress like this look really great with a belt, and I love belts. I am wearing one as well, because I think it pulls everything together. And, you know, extra bling Smiley winking

I did. Before I put the belt on the dress was a NO. After it completely changed the dress. (On mobile but this is before belt)
